After a long wait, I'm finally ready to share my undergraduate dissertation on Welsh-language LGBTQIA+ terminology! Excerpt from the introduction:

LGBTQIA+ identity and Welsh speaker status can both be considered marginalisations in their own right. The LGBTQIA+ community has been subject to social stigma, exclusion and even attempts at eradication. Likewise, Welsh speakers have been similarly treated. Those who sit at the intersection of these marginalisations (namely, Welsh-speaking members of the LGBTQIA+ community) experience discrimination and marginalisation for being Welsh speakers and for being members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Most LGBTQIA+ activism in the United Kingdom is conducted through the medium of English and Welsh language transmission had long had a home in chapel Sunday school education. Despite belonging to the LGBTQIA+ community and to the Welsh-speaking community, many LGBTQIA+ Welsh speakers face further marginalisation in each community – Welsh speaker status is marginalised when most LGBTQIA+ activism is conducted in English, meaning LGBTQIA+ Welsh speakers must engage in English in order to participate. And LGBTQIA+ status is marginalised outside of LGBTQIA+ community spaces, meaning Welsh-speaking communities are just as capable of homophobia or transphobia as any other. This results in LGBTQIA+ Welsh speakers becoming more invisible in both communities...
